Effect of solar wind density and velocity on the subsolar standoff distance of the Martian magnetic pileup boundary

Using a 3D multispecies magnetohydrodynamic model, we investigated the effect of solar wind dynamic pressure ( P d ) with different densities and velocities on subsolar standoff distance r 0 Martian magnetic pileup boundary (MPB). We fixed maximum condition, strongest crustal field located in dayside region, Parker spiral interplanetary at Mars. simulated 35 cases range 0.1494 to 7.323 nPa (solar number density n ? [1, 9] cm ?3 , velocity V [?258, ?1344] km s ?1 ). The main results are as follows. (1) decreases increasing according power-law relations. For same higher (lower density) larger MPB. (2) A leads lower ratio compressed strength plasma ? under . This indicates that thermal MPB plays significant role for field. Because process is stronger velocity, increased. As result, increases. (3) present new formula parameters pressure, density, velocity.
